To go to this place is very easy. Take the Beijing Subway, and stop to Xi Shi Men station. Then the zoo is there. First time I also thought that the zoo located far away from the city, or in remote area, but this Zoo is located in the city, opposite the shopping mall.
The entrance fee is 40 RMB include the Panda zone, if only entrance fee is 20 RMB. First time I entered this zoo still thinking the zoo is small and felt the place must be quite dirty and polluted cause in the city, a lot of smog from the cars.
I quite surprise when entering the area, it?s quite big and also really good maintain. I went to the Panda zone, There?s 3 big panda, name Lily and Cici but the other one I can not get the name. Cause I went in the morning, maybe the first customer went into this zoo. The Zoo is open 7.30am. The Panda still sleeping, but waiting about 30 minutes the Panda woke up and go out to get the bamboos to eat. Really fun this time, cause the Panda enjoy eating the bamboos, quite long time I spend in the Panda zone. The hut also big, and well maintained. Many birds in here also, they playing in this location, I take some of the birds photo here.
Then I visited the Red Panda, this Red Panda is very active, always moving, but we can try to attract them by moving our hand, seems to get them some food. Better not give them any food, cause we don?t know it will be okay for them or not. Maybe if the fruit still okay, but please do not give any other like cake or some biscuit.
In the middle there?s a lake, quite nice this place, with the special tree, it?s my favorite tree in china. In this lake we can see many duck, Beijing duck and swan and many fish. The lake also really well maintained and clean.
They put many animals in the glass like aquarium, I like this concept, for taking photo maybe difficult but for the animal is good, cause visitor can not throw something to the cage. This glass make convenient for the animal, they can eat what the zoo provided and not be poisoned by other food.
The good thing in this glass concept is, they really take care of it, the glass clean, so for us really nice to see animals playing around, I think better than using the old cage concept. The best one is the open space, but if really can make the visitor not throw something is the best, because for the open space some people easily throw anything, like mineral water bottle, candy, biscuit and others.
For tiger, lion the zone is not nice, especially they put in the small cage, I think must have another way for this kind of animal, maybe the Shenzen Zoo concept can be applied in here. Because the tiger seems not really life here, and not have space to move out, even have the open space one, but feel very empty.
Many kind of monkey in this zoo, and they put in the glass zone, quite nice, cause still can see them clearly through the glass. I can take some photos of the monkey here, quite interesting, because now I can take it without any border, but must consider the thick of the glass, and waiting for the moment.
There?s also a penguin zoo, for me this zoo is not interesting, to entrance this need to pay more 10 RMB, but not really nice inside.
The interactive place is in the bear zoo, cause the bears try to get our attention to give them some food. In this zone people give some food, but some time also worried cause they gave biscuit, candy and simple throw others inside. But the bear is very active, moving their hand to his mouth, just try to communicate to the visitor like want to say ?throw the food to me??
Walking in this area is nice, also easy to find food for lunch here, and the place is convenience. I recommended this zoo to be visited, especially if want to see panda and monkey.
